As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Perform daily rounds on patients admitted to the department, ensuring continuity of care and meeting or exceeding patient care needs and physician satisfaction.
- Respond to critical or emergency care alerts within the hospital units, consistently responding to emergent and critical alerts.
- Ensure seamless communication with attending physicians, managing requests and notifications by pager and phone, and coordinating patient care.
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments, coordinating care with attending and referring physicians, and reviewing lab results, x-rays, and other test results.
- Perform patient procedures as ordered by physicians, under the guidelines of state and federal licensing, and according to hospital policies.
- Serve as a point of contact for inpatient activities, coordinating admissions and discharges, and managing communications between nursing staff and physicians.
- Participate in cross-coverage sign-outs with physicians, coordinating and communicating between shifts to meet or exceed patient care needs and physician satisfaction.
- Assist in reviewing and collecting data for quality improvement and monitoring outcomes.
- Appropriate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
- 1 year of clinical experience specific to practice as a NP or PA, with the ability to see all ages, newborn to adult.
- Current PA or NP licensure in the State of NC, BLS (CPR) certification, and DEA License.
