Industrial Safety Specialist

AESC Group is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of high-performance batteries for zero-emission electric vehicles and energy storage systems. We are seeking an experienced Industrial Safety Specialist to join our team in Florence, SC.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety engineering and be able to develop and implement procedures, guidelines, and recommend equipment to promote and ensure industrial safety and health. This role will support training across the organization to enhance EHS knowledge at all levels.

- Develops and implements procedures, guidelines, and recommends equipment to promote and ensure industrial safety and health.
- Supports training across the organization to enhance EHS knowledge at all levels.
- Creates and manages a job safety assessment program across all functions and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Supports Development, Implementation, and Execution of MDS safety policies, requirements, and programs.
- Maintains Safety Records.
- Reviews documents to verify compliance with Safety Policies and requirements.
- Maintains Hazard Tracking System data.
- Supports System Safety Risk Identification and Management Processes.
- Evaluates Safety documentation, system design, and baseline changes.
- Reviews Program-level system safety assessment reports for completeness, technical accuracy, and assessment of safety risk.
- Reviews verification evidence and provides assessment of whether safety specifications, hazard mitigations, and requirements are met.
- Conducts Program Reviews and Meetings.
- Attends and supports system-level design reviews and assessing changes throughout the life cycle of the Programs/Project.
- Supports design and test reviews, change and failure review boards, and technical interchange meetings to identify and characterize risks.
- Supports milestone reviews including Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR).
- Assists in the tracking and closure of safety-related action items assigned during program reviews/meetings.
- Conducts Safety Audits and reports deficiencies identified in the audits related to implementation of and compliance with safety policies.
- Performs safety audit follow-ups, tracks findings, and verifies closure within the guidelines identified.
- Participates in the development and review of safety risk assessments and other safety analysis and assists in obtaining approval from the appropriate authority.
- Develops work instructions related to EHS.
- Supports Safe Conduct System Demonstration Activities.
- Evaluates mission-specific safety risks, particularly for interaction of the test event with other systems.
- Assesses test architecture for safety concerns and reviewing test plans and procedures for safety concerns.
- Supports development of Final Hazard Classification (FHC) detailed plans.
- Participates in pre-test reviews, such as Test Planning Reviews (TPRs).
- Participates in daily status briefings.
- Participates in Failure Reviews and Mishap Investigations.
- Develops and publishes Hazard Classification Documentation.
- Completes Department of Transportation documentation in accordance with Federal Regulations.
- As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
- Performs all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.
