Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at the El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medication management support to clients, including collecting, organizing, and delivering medications, and educating clients on proper medication use.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary health treatment teams to implement treatment plans and report on client progress.
  • Conduct medication checks and take appropriate action if a client poses a danger with respect to medication use.
  • Serve as a member of an inter-professional team or intensive care management team, reporting on prescribed medication changes and other psychosocial parameters.
  • Perform crisis intervention and provide support and assistance to clients as needed.
Requirements
  • Equivalent to a level of education and course of study that would qualify as an accredited program for qualifying for California State License as a Psychiatric Technician or dual licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician.
  • One (1) year of experience performing professional-level medication management duties for Psychiatric Technician I, or two (2) years of experience for Psychiatric Technician II.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Possession of a license as a Psychiatric Technician or Licensed Vocational Nurse/Psychiatric Technician in the State of California.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The selected candidate must be able to work effectively in a team setting and communicate effectively with clients, medical staff, and other stakeholders.

The El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment. The selected candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
