Role Mission:

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role within the NGA DEFENDER team, contributing to the integration of cybersecurity initiatives across the organization. The Knowledge Manager will leverage Cybersecurity Business Intelligence (CBI) tools to evaluate data and generate insightful work products. Responsibilities include enhancing cybersecurity policies, managing compliance and reporting obligations, and facilitating information sharing across the agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer processes and tools that assist in the identification, documentation, and accessibility of organizational knowledge and information.
  • Create user-friendly access paths to information suites to enhance end-user engagement.
  • Assess and report on the utilization of knowledge management resources.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of knowledge management projects.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on data structures and databases to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Champion the adoption of knowledge management practices and information sharing within the organization.
  • Manage the cataloging, storage, and retrieval of organizational knowledge assets.
  • Design and maintain a robust knowledge management framework that ensures access to intellectual capital.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing among users through established operational processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, security methodologies, and risk management processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity laws, regulations, and ethical considerations.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, threats, vulnerabilities, and their operational impacts.
  • Experience with content creation and collaborative technologies.
  • Proficient in information organization and management technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based knowledge management solutions and their security implications.
  • Ability to apply data classification standards based on sensitivity and risk factors.
  • Understanding of taxonomy and semantic ontology principles.
  • Awareness of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and related data security standards.
  • Familiarity with information classification programs and procedures.
  • Knowledge of data mining techniques and database theory.
  • Eligibility for TS/SCI clearance, subject to CI Polygraph.
  • IAM Level 2 certification preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in conducting information searches and knowledge mapping.
  • Familiarity with various knowledge management technologies.
  • Ability to select appropriate knowledge repository technologies for specific applications.
  • Understanding of security controls for information systems and networks.
