Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Inspector Aide to join our team at Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure consulting and engineering, with a focus on testing and inspections of soil, concrete, and/or asphalt materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with safety, plans, specifications, and other contract requirements
  • Perform engineering inspection activities, including construction observation of concrete, asphalt, soils, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout construction
  • Collect and record data, including daily construction record-keeping and traffic and erosion control inspections
  • Interact and communicate effectively with colleagues and client representatives
  • Sample and test construction materials to ensure they meet quality requirements
  • Verify calibration of field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards
  • Prepare sample information for submittal to our AASHTO Accredited Lab
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED required; Associate or BS in Civil Engineering preferred
  • Roadway inspection experience preferred
  • Experience with testing/inspections of soil, concrete and/or asphalt materials preferred
  • FDOT Intermediate MOT certification required - must receive within six months of hire
  • Math calculation skills and MS Office experience required
  • Strong written and communication skills required
  • A valid Driver's License is required with a safe driving record
Work Environment

This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions with some night and weekend work required as needed. The employee must be able to travel and tour work sites under adverse environmental conditions, including loud noise levels, high dust and dirt, and extreme temperature. The employee must be able to visually examine construction materials and finished structures and work in various types of weather and field conditions, including heights, uneven terrain, highway traffic, hazards of highway construction sites and heavy equipment.
