Job Summary and Qualifications

The Senior Radiology Technologist delivers direct patient care within the scope of a Radiology Technologist, coordinating the daily activities in the designated area(s) of responsibility.

This role involves supervising and evaluating subordinate personnel under the guidance of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager and Director.


  • Responsible for interfacing with other departments, physicians and their office staff, patients, families, visitors, and Radiology employees as needed.
  • Performs duties of imaging technologist, including call rotation coverage.
  • Provide supervision of assigned employees
  • Maintain high-quality (age-specific) care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, as assigned
  • Assist radiologists and other department technologists in performing procedures as needed.
  • Promotes and displays a positive customer-oriented demeanor to patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
  • Prepares schedules for assigned staff and manages daily workflow of unit operations.
  • Participates in team interviews with candidates for positions in assignment area
  • Provides input for performance appraisals of assigned team members to the Manager and/or Director.
  • Assists with implementation of policies and procedures to meet the various accrediting agencies regulations and laws.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies as they relate to the imaging department
  • Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver
  • Participate in Diagnostic Imaging specific initiatives and process improvement
  • Support the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization.

What qualifications you will need:
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
State of Florida Registered Radiologic Technologist
Minimum 3 years directly related experience in a hospital setting

Previous Lead or Charge experience strongly preferred

Registered Radiographer (ARRT) (R)
Completion of a two (2) year accredited school of Radiologic Technology
