Position Summary

The Director of Nursing is accountable for overseeing the nursing department, ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Company regulations. This role involves supervising nursing personnel to guarantee high-quality care for residents and implementing the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops and coordinates resident care plans in alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Establishes and upholds nursing department protocols.
  • Engages in the recruitment and training processes for nursing staff.
  • Ensures adequate staffing levels and approves work schedules.
  • Manages nursing service hours and oversees supply expenditures.
  • Supervises the delivery of skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.
  • Fosters a safe environment while addressing the needs of residents.
  • Involves in the planning process for admissions and discharges.
  • Conducts necessary audits and reviews of documentation.
  • Participates in quality assurance and operational evaluations.
  • Provides leadership within the facility during the Administrator's absence.
  • Sets and manages objectives for the nursing department.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Texas State Nursing License.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in nursing service administration.
  • Familiarity with state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Availability for on-call duties around the clock.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Capability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and pull/push.
  • Requires good vision and manual dexterity.
  • Operates within a professional office setting.
