Dispensing Nurse LPN Job Description

BAART Program, a leading substance abuse treatment organization, is seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a Dispensing Nurse. In this role, you will work collaboratively with physicians and nursing supervisors to dispense prescribed medications to patients in a comfortable outpatient clinic setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer daily medications to patients in accordance with program policies and medical protocols.
  • Maintain dispensing equipment, manage medication inventory, and report patient treatment information.
  • Collaborate with supervisory counseling staff to provide non-judgmental and accepting care to patients.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards for the distribution and storage of controlled substances.
  • Order, receive, and stock medication in accordance with DEA and State regulations.
  • Provide daily assessments of patients and assist in orienting new nursing staff.
Qualifications:
  • Current and good standing LPN license in the State of South Dakota.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • EMR and computer proficiency desired.
  • Experience in chemical dependency preferred.
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
