Service Manager Job Summary

The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Service Department at Kenworth Sales Company. This role requires strong leadership and management skills to supervise a team of employees and ensure the efficient delivery of services to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage a team of Service Department employees to ensure excellent customer service and timely completion of repair orders.
  • Analyze performance results and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and implement plans to meet sales and profit targets, including market analysis and sales strategies.
  • Organize and train employees to maintain high levels of technical expertise and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with other departments and functional managers to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Maintain liaison with Kenworth Truck Co. Service representatives, fleet owners, and other important customers to build strong relationships and drive business growth.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; five years of experience as a heavy duty truck repair technician preferred.
  • Working knowledge of all heavy truck repair methods and techniques.
  • Excellent communication, supervisory, and managerial skills.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate large department at a profit and according to dealership guidelines.
  • Professional personal appearance and adherence to dealership uniform policy.
Working Conditions:

This role requires a combination of physical and desk work, including lifting parts, climbing in and out of vehicles, and using computer equipment. The Service Manager must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
