St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking a full-time Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist to join our team at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY.

Position Overview

The Consult Liaison Psychiatrist will provide inpatient consultation coverage for patients at the Ellis Hospital campus, working collaboratively with Hospitalists, specialists, and community providers. The successful candidate will provide psychiatric consultative services to the medical and surgical teams, focusing on patients with mental illness who have comorbid medical illness while in the hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient consultation coverage for patients at the Ellis Hospital campus
  • Work collaboratively with Hospitalists, specialists, and community providers
  • Provide psychiatric consultative services to the medical and surgical teams
  • Focus on patients with mental illness who have comorbid medical illness while in the hospital
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Psychiatry
  • Experience treating an adult psychiatric patient population
  • Fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine/Consultation Liaison preferred
  • Experience in an inpatient setting is also preferred
  • DEA Licensure/NYS licensure required
