Senior Hardware/Platform Engineer Job Details

This is a unique opportunity to join our R&D team as a Senior Hardware/Platform Engineer. You'll be responsible for driving the development of our TrueNAS hardware platform, leveraging your expertise to evaluate new hardware platforms, research emerging trends, and design and qualify new components and products.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate potential hardware platforms and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Research emerging storage hardware trends and stay up-to-date on industry developments
  • Design and qualify new components and products, working closely with cross-functional teams
  • Develop and optimize automation frameworks for hardware qualification testing
  • Provide technical feedback on product design and architecture, ensuring compatibility between hardware and software

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in hardware engineering, with expertise in enterprise-grade server components and system assembly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to conduct detailed failure analysis and troubleshooting
  • Experience with qualification testing, including setting up test plans and documenting results

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000 USD annually. Additional compensation through the Incentive Bonus Program is available.
