We've made significant strides in our journey to gain FDA approval for the first lifespan extension drug for any species. Our pipeline includes three products, with the first expected to reach the market in 2025. As a well-funded startup in growth mode, we're seeking an experienced General Counsel to support our expansion strategies.

About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned General Counsel to play a pivotal role in facilitating our company's growth. This role will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance, managing risks, and providing strategic legal guidance to support our business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Draft, review, and negotiate complex documents, including contracts and agreements.
  2. Advise on intellectual property matters and protect company assets.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate legal risks associated with business initiatives and strategic partnerships.
  4. Handle disputes, litigation, and other legal proceedings, including managing outside counsel when necessary.
  5. Review and negotiate commercial agreements, such as vendor, customer, and partnership agreements.
  6. Oversee the protection of company intellectual property, including confidential product information.
  7. Ensure the company's legal compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  8. Advise on employment law matters and ensure equity is approved by the Board of Directors.
  9. Secure the company's interests and protect it from legal risk.
  10. Provide a legal perspective to proposed corporate actions.
  11. Develop functional plans for managing legal matters.

About You

  1. A minimum of years of experience practicing law.
  2. JD from a top US law school and active bar membership in good standing.
  3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  4. Strong understanding of contract law, corporate law, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  5. Excellent drafting and editing skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  6. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  8. Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide strategic guidance to senior management.
