Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a seasoned and dynamic Hardware Engineer to contribute to the operational upkeep and support of essential ground-based radar systems that are vital for strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space monitoring missions. This role will involve collaboration with government stakeholders, program management, and engineering leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct electrical and mechanical analysis, focusing on signal, power, and thermal performance at the rack level.
  • Create engineering documentation adhering to ASME and IEEE standards, including assembly schematics, wiring diagrams, and custom cable designs.
  • Evaluate supplier Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), ensuring compliance with specifications through detailed review of step-files and 3D models.
  • Support system integration, testing, and development for complex communication systems.
  • Formulate innovative technical solutions to intricate challenges, utilizing creativity and resourcefulness.
  • Provide integration, testing, and maintenance support in both laboratory and field environments.
  • Engage in troubleshooting efforts to resolve complex system issues, collaborating with engineers responsible for sustaining subsystems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of nine years of relevant experience, or four years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Proven experience in designing and modifying products, developing technical specifications, analyzing hardware configurations, and testing hardware against specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PARCS or other Strategic Warning and Surveillance radar systems such as PAVE PAWS and UEWR.
  • Familiarity with the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission and its associated framework.

Compensation: Target salary range is $120,001 - $160,000, reflecting typical compensation based on experience and other relevant factors.

COVID-19 Policy: SAIC does not mandate COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters; however, customer site vaccination requirements must be adhered to when working at a customer location.
