The J82 nursing unit specializes in Heart and Lung Transplant services, forming an integral part of the Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Institute.

In your role as a Registered Nurse within this specialized unit, you will be responsible for the care of patients who are either post-transplant or awaiting heart or lung transplants.

An RN in this position should possess expertise in procedures such as chest tube and central line insertions, as well as managing complex medical histories and innovative surgical interventions.

Work Schedule:

Day/Night Rotation with Weekend Flexibility:

This position offers a unique opportunity for those seeking a flexible work schedule while providing essential patient care during weekends.

Our Weekend Flex Program allows caregivers to work two 12-hour shifts over the weekend and one additional 12-hour shift during the week. Weekend shifts commence at 7:00 PM on Fridays and conclude at 7:30 AM on Mondays.

This arrangement enables caregivers to enjoy personal time during the week while fulfilling their professional responsibilities.

Cleveland Clinic supports you by providing 36 hours of work while compensating you for 44 hours, ensuring full-time status and access to comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities Include:

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required based on unit assignment.

Work Environment:

This role demands critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.

Physical requirements include the ability to handle and lift patients, manual dexterity, and endurance for extended periods of standing and walking.

Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids is inherent to this position.


Personal Protective Equipment:
