Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist Lead plays a vital role in the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's Perioperative Services department. Reporting to the Manager of the operating room, this individual will work collaboratively with the PCC-RN to ensure seamless patient care and efficient surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with education and orientation of new staff members
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and product evaluation
  • Manage instrument and equipment inventory, as well as Preference card management
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Maintain a clean and organized perioperative unit
  • Promote a positive attitude and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Perform tasks in a cost-effective manner without compromising quality of care
  • Meet hospital continuing education and certification requirements
  • Contribute to organizational effectiveness and demonstrate career growth and development
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Formal Surgical Technology Training Program or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CST Certification required
