Community Support Specialist

Salary: $17/hr
Work Schedule: Sundays 7am-3pm & Saturdays 7am-11am, totaling 24 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:The following duties may vary in intensity and frequency based on the specific program:
- Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment for individuals in a community residential setting.
- Encourage and assist individuals in developing essential daily living skills.
- Support individuals in maintaining their health and personal hygiene.
- Administer medications as required.
- Organize and engage in recreational and leisure activities.
- Utilize approved techniques to coach and demonstrate skills to individuals.
- Contribute to the overall operation and maintenance of the community residential setting.
- Adhere to agency policies and procedures.
- Engage in ongoing communication regarding program planning and implementation for individuals.
- Update and maintain the program Whiteboard/Home Page at the start of each shift.
- Daily completion of your Connect time schedule block.
- Document Daily Notes for individuals served by the end of your shift.
- Record Shift Notes and update the Individual's Comment Log as necessary.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- For Personal Care Homes, candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma.
- Must pass and maintain Medication Certification standards.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License required, with the ability to be insured under company policy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical capability to assist with personal care tasks, including transferring individuals for bathing and grocery shopping.
- Proficient in CPR-AED/First Aid techniques.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to completing training programs and attending required meetings.
- Flexibility to work unconventional schedules, as services are provided 24/7, year-round.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
- Maintain annual training hours as required for the position.
- Potential for aggressive behavior from individuals.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
