Overview:


Oversee the management of inpatient rehabilitation programs, which encompass departments such as Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Health Psychology, and Therapeutic Recreation.

Act as a vital member of the rehabilitation leadership team.

Direct management, strategic planning, and coordination of initiatives within designated areas of responsibility to ensure operational excellence while delivering cost-effective and high-quality patient services.


Qualifications:

Education:
A Master's degree or higher in a relevant field is required. Additional qualifications in business, finance, or healthcare administration are preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:
Must possess an Illinois license or be eligible for licensure as a Psychologist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Pathologist.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of clinical experience in a comprehensive rehabilitation environment is preferred, along with required clinical leadership experience.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Experience in budgeting, operational planning, project management, and performance improvement processes is preferred.

Able to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Responsibilities:


Engage in strategic planning initiatives for the service line and areas of responsibility; accomplish assigned objectives as part of the planning process; demonstrate commitment to and participate in achieving organizational goals.

Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for assigned areas.

Support daily cost management, including adjusting staffing levels to meet patient demand.

Organize training and in-service programs for staff to address development needs.


Conduct annual performance evaluations of staff based on direct observation and feedback from clinical staff and relevant stakeholders.

Lead departmental and team planning efforts by advising on staffing, operational performance, quality and safety, and technology.

Participate in the departmental Quality Management Program, including Quality Assurance, Quality Improvement, and Program Evaluation. Ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory standards in departmental operations and documentation.

Maintain a daily focus on safety and infection control.

Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction within areas of responsibility.

Assist in the recruitment of staff and coordinate the orientation of new hires.

Act as a liaison with physicians, other hospital departments, third-party payers, and community organizations.

Collaborate with other managers and clinical program coordinators to achieve program objectives.

Stay informed about current developments in the field of expertise and deliver quality patient care.

Coordinate research and outcome assessment activities within areas of responsibility.

Manage daily operations (Personnel, Procedural, etc.) in designated areas.

Work collaboratively with department leaders throughout the organization to ensure seamless coordination of all therapy services necessary to meet patient needs.

Provide clear interpretation of hospital and departmental policies, objectives, and operational procedures for program coordinators and staff as appropriate.

Represent the administrative policies of the organization in a positive and professional manner to all supervised employees. Uphold the principles of the organization's Statement of Values.

Maintain current knowledge of advancements in relevant clinical services, reimbursement, organizational regulations, licensure, and strategic initiatives.

Perform other related duties as required or requested.
