Job Summary

The General Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects with significant complexity. This position will manage the team, plan all construction sequencing, and meet project goals in support of the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn Construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and manage a team of construction professionals to ensure successful project execution.
    • Develop and execute project plans, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
  • Project Oversight
    • Oversee all aspects of project execution, including construction, safety, quality, and environmental management.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify and mitigate project risks, and develop contingency plans as needed.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met.
    • Provide regular project updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Business Development
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including bid preparation and proposal development.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
    • Contribute to the development of company business strategies and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • 12+ years of construction experience, including 10+ years of field supervision experience.
    • Experience running large-scale construction projects, including aviation projects.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
