We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Silfex, Inc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for safely setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machines to produce high-quality precision components.
Key Responsibilities- Operate 3 to 5-axis CNC machine tools to accurately machine parts per work instructions and manufacturing plans.
- Utilize Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to minimize exposure to hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure accurate production of parts throughout the process.
- Handle parts and materials with care, maintaining cleanliness to ensure quality of product and condition of equipment.
- Support the work of the department and team by maintaining communication through collaboration and problem-solving.
- Accurately record and interpret production information in PLEX, including verifying track numbers and machine downtime.
- Document and review information, including maintenance dispatch and completed Preventative Maintenance.
- Produce parts according to standards by utilizing production documentation and verifying part orientation.
- Perform assigned preventative maintenance and maintain coolant lines and nozzle positioning.
- Set up machines for production to ensure they are operating correctly.
- Minimum of High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of CNC Machining experience on 3 or 5-axis CNC machines.
- Machine control experience and shop math skills.
- Microsoft Office experience, specifically Excel.
- Knowledge of 5S and Lean manufacturing concepts.
- Ability to apply standard practices and techniques within work.
- Detail-oriented with quality and safety mindset.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Certificate from Technical School or Trade School.
- Knowledge of GD&T.
- Experience machining Si, glass or other brittle material.
