Job Overview

The Cloud Solutions Architect will play a crucial role in formulating and executing architectural strategies for the SOUTHCOM client's Cloud Adoption, Migration, and Operationalization initiatives, integral to the overarching cybersecurity and IT modernization agenda (SCITES). This role demands leadership, specialized knowledge, and deliverables surrounding Cloud strategies, architectures, best practices (people, process, and technology), operational/economic models, and cybersecurity compliance within a DoD framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the enterprise cloud strategy, migration tactics, and operational frameworks that align with customer objectives and the Department of Defense (DOD) mission. This includes but is not limited to multi-cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, DISA) and hybrid cloud configurations.
  • Establish the enterprise cloud management office (CMO), focusing on policies, budgets, standards, governance, innovation initiatives, and shared services.
  • Design and operationalize a cloud Identity Management and Governance framework in accordance with DoD and SOUTHCOM guidelines, incorporating Zero Trust Architecture Security principles.
  • Facilitate internal coordination with SCITES, SOUTHCOM, GDIT, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of enterprise cloud capabilities.
  • Engage in external collaboration with other DoD commands and partners to promote the successful adoption of enterprise cloud solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
  • Proficiency in various technologies relevant to the position.
  • Over 15 years of experience in large-scale Enterprise Cloud Architecture, Design, and Mobilization within a DoD or governmental context.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, GOVCloud, and similar frameworks.

Preferred Certifications

  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator, Azure DevSecOps, etc.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect
  • CompTIA Cloud+
  • VMware Cloud Certification

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional overnight travel may be necessary.

Work Environment

Cambridge International Systems adheres to vaccination requirements for Temporary Duty Station (TDY) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) assignments. If this role involves OCONUS travel, applicable vaccination requirements will be communicated.

Office setting includes:
