Position Overview:
Communicare Health Services is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Activities Director to lead our dedicated activities team. We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative leader who can enhance the quality of life for our residents through engaging activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and assess a variety of resident-focused activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Engage residents in the development of personalized activity programs, ensuring their interests and preferences are prioritized.
  • Attend and contribute to various meetings, including resident and family councils, as well as departmental gatherings.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and documentation related to activities.
  • Participate in community outreach and fundraising initiatives.
  • Foster positive relationships with local organizations and volunteers to enhance community involvement.
  • Address disciplinary matters as necessary, ensuring a supportive environment for all team members.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related discipline, or completion of the 90-hour course for activity professionals.
  • Demonstrated management experience, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of activity standards, state regulations, and best practices in long-term care.
  • Ability to make sound decisions independently when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in planning and executing a diverse range of activities.
  • Willingness to explore and integrate new methodologies into existing practices.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license; a CDL may be required for larger vehicles.
