Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Regional Sales Director to spearhead our efforts in the cardiovascular medical device market.

This key role will involve building and managing a regional sales team, driving revenue growth, and developing effective sales strategies.

Shockwave Medical is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) technology. Our mission is to establish a new standard of care for treating complex calcified cardiovascular disease.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of $200,000, plus commission, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and more.

Responsibilities
  1. Team Leadership: Build, oversee, and drive a high-performing team of regional field sales representatives to achieve maximum sales revenues and exceed sales goals.
  2. Forecasting: Accurately forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly sales revenue streams to inform business decisions.
  3. Sales Strategy Development: Identify, develop, and implement effective sales plans and strategies to maximize revenue growth.
  4. Revenue Growth Planning: Develop specific revenue plans for sales teams to ensure growth across all targeted products and services.
  5. Training and Coaching: Provide coaching, advice, support, motivation, and information to help individuals meet and exceed their defined sales objectives.
  6. Deal Structuring: Train and coach sales representatives to structure deals that exceed revenue expectations.
  7. Escalation Point: Serve as an escalation point for issues beyond team authority, resolving conflicts as necessary.
  8. Geographic Sales: Perform sales activities for an assigned geographic area to achieve or exceed assigned revenue objectives.
  9. New Sales Strategies: Develop and test new sales strategies and tactics, replicating those that are most successful.
  10. Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on new product and industry knowledge to disseminate to the team.
  11. Go-to-Market Strategies: Work closely with Marketing on go-to-market strategies and ensure their successful implementation.
  12. Meetings and Reviews: Participate in sales team meetings, sales management meetings, and quarterly business reviews.
Requirements
  1. Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  2. Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading sales in the medical device or disposable device markets.
  3. Success Metrics: 5+ years of demonstrated success leading and managing a sales team, exceeding team quotas in cardiovascular medical devices.
  4. Key Skills: Strong sales, recruiting, leadership, organization, planning, and prioritization skills.
  5. Results Orientation: Results-oriented with multiple years of meeting or exceeding quota while bringing innovative market-defining products to market.
  6. Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills to align and foster positive working relationships across the organization (internal and external).
  7. Pipeline Analysis: Ability to develop and critically analyze a sales pipeline and forecast.
  8. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Travel: Ability to travel over 50% if needed.
  10. Flexibility: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  11. Teamwork: Operate as a team player and/or independently, demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements.
