SOLUTE Careers is in search of a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to engage in cybersecurity engineering and configuration management tasks aimed at upholding secure IT platform baselines along with the lab environment and IT infrastructure.


The ideal candidate will possess expertise in submitting and maintaining security packages for information systems, with a preference for familiarity with Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.

Requirements:

• 6-8 years of relevant experience.

• Proven experience in integrating security into infrastructure, platforms, and software across critical tasks and high-impact assignments.

• Familiarity with CNSSI 1253 and NIST SP 800 series standards.

• Knowledge of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and Security Requirement Guides (SRG) standards, particularly for Cloud Computing SRG.

• Experience with web-based Assessment and Authorization platforms (e.g., eMASS).

• Understanding of cybersecurity threats and countermeasures.

Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with SCAP scanners

• Experience with ACAS

• Knowledge of Visio

• Familiarity with Wireshark

Educational Background:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.

Security Clearance:
• Candidates must hold an active, DoD issued Top Secret security clearance or higher. A TS/SCI level clearance is preferred for this role.

• A TS/SCI clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Mandatory Certifications:
• CySA+ (or equivalent DoDI 8140)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide cybersecurity expertise for system security engineering and assessment and authorization activities.


• Collaborate with other cybersecurity professionals and system engineers to support test lab modernization projects by evaluating new capabilities and determining the appropriate RMF assessment and authorization approach; or updates/changes to existing authorization packages.


• Conduct system administration tasks on Windows servers, MS SharePoint, and lab wiki.


• Manage and maintain licenses.

• Support continuous monitoring through established vulnerability management processes outlined in NIST series and CNSSI 1253.

• Execute monthly ACAS scans to identify vulnerabilities requiring remediation or mitigation.


• Identify and implement necessary configuration updates based on the latest DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) on a quarterly basis using SCAP tools and manual review processes.


• Develop and maintain Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms) to address findings from vulnerability scans and STIG reviews.



• Provide updated security artifacts based on changes to the system baseline.


Salary Range:
$110,000 - $125,000 annually.
