Job Summary

Soliant is seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Newport, Oregon. As a Travel SLP, you will have the opportunity to work with a school district in Oregon and provide speech and language services to students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)/Response to Instruction (RTI) model by:
    • Providing education and training to teachers on typical speech and language development;
    • Assisting teachers in designing appropriate instruction strategies;
    • Providing short-term support services;
    • And/or completing referrals to the multidisciplinary team (MDT) for students who have not made sufficient gains through the RTI process.
  • Complete evaluations and reevaluations as required by federal and state laws;
  • Assist the multidisciplinary team (MDT) in determining student eligibility for speech services;
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) development;
  • Provide appropriate therapy services to support students in their academic programs by:
    • Providing speech and language services to students using evidence-based practices;
    • Considering language and cultural differences of students for intervention;
    • Considering the augmentative and assistive technology needs of students;
    • Integrating school curriculum with speech/language therapy, as appropriate;
    • Serving students in the least restrictive environment (LRE) to the maximum extent appropriate;
    • Consulting with teachers and special education staff;
    • Providing information and assistance to parents/guardians;
    • Assisting in the coordination of services for students transitioning from one level of education to another.
  • Conduct meetings and complete reports as part of the referral or dismissal process for speech students;
  • Document services by means of therapy and observation notes, or testing data.
Requirements
  • SLP license from the Oregon Department of Speech-Language Pathology;
  • SLP certificate from the Oregon Department of Education.
