Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for a range of duties essential to our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing, demonstrate attention to detail, and take ownership of their responsibilities.


Classification: Salary Exempt

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm; overtime and weekend work may be required.

Compensation: Competitive salary based on qualifications

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director of Operations


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer blueprints and purchase orders to ascertain project requirements.
  • Define manufacturing processes, equipment needs, and setup operations.
  • Collaborate with shop management to develop Engineering Masters.
  • Identify and implement process improvements as necessary.
  • Conduct time studies to establish cycle time expectations for New Product Introductions (NPI).
  • Enhance composites production rates while managing costs effectively.
  • Address manufacturing defects and work with the quality team on corrective actions.
  • Maintain regular communication with departments such as Production, Machining, Maintenance, and Quality.
  • Support tensile pull and weight load testing as required.
  • Execute Engineering Masters efficiently.
  • Promote Hera's vision and foster a culture of excellence.
  • Assist in improving key performance indicators related to safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Research and interpret job-related information and instructions.
  • Propose solutions to machining challenges.
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
  • Participate in cross-functional operations.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts by evaluating candidates.
  • Provide support to the router and laser departments as needed.
  • Collaborate with customers to resolve technical issues related to CAD data.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
  • Background in Aerospace, particularly in Structures, Machining, and Paint.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Experience in machine shop planning for complex parts.
  • Ability to read and analyze technical specifications and drawings.
  • Knowledge of tooling and machining procedures.
  • Experience in low to mid-volume job shop environments.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly JobBoss.
  • Proficient in machining various materials.
  • Ability to work in controlled environments with necessary safety gear.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Strong team player with problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CNC programming experience is advantageous.

  • Primarily in an air-conditioned office with occasional visits to the production area.
