This is an on-call hourly commission role with gratuity, starting at a minimum of $11.50 per hour, inclusive of benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Spa Director to ensure seamless operations.
- Uphold a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with colleagues and guests.
- Maintain open communication with spa staff regarding appointments and workflow requirements.
- Welcome clients warmly throughout their spa journey.
- Deliver precise and attentive massage treatments.
- Engage with guests to align their expectations for a satisfying experience, which may include a tour of the facilities.
- Be versatile in providing various services within a unisex salon environment, based on qualifications and certifications.
- Prepare and sanitize massage equipment and treatment areas daily, ensuring readiness for service.
- Exhibit punctuality and maintain consistent work attendance.
- Answer phone calls professionally, identifying yourself and offering assistance.
- Promote retail products and spa services effectively.
- Adhere to proper opening and closing procedures, managing transactions responsibly.
- Schedule appointments via phone or in-person, accurately recording all transactions.
- Maintain a polished and professional appearance, including a clean uniform and nametag.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols.
- Ensure spa rooms and public areas are kept clean, comfortable, and presentable.
- Report any incidents or injuries to the appropriate department.
- Participate in deep cleaning tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Attend training sessions to enhance product knowledge as required.
- Stay informed about current trends and developments in the industry.
- Perform additional duties as assigned that align with the role's responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Valid massage therapist license as mandated by state regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service; sales experience is advantageous.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor, with excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficient in using technology for reservation management and payment processing, as well as basic document handling.
- Capability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, reach for, or carry over 30 pounds regularly.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a massage therapist; experience in spa or hospitality settings is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience/training.
- CPR certification is a plus.
