The Training Officer I - Organizational Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees within the California Correctional Health Care Services organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training programs to meet the needs of employees at all levels of the organization
  • Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and conferences to promote employee development and organizational effectiveness
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop relevant content
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in employee knowledge and skills
  • Develop and maintain training materials, including presentations, handouts, and evaluation tools
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in training and development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Training and Development, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in training and development, preferably in a healthcare or correctional setting
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Training and Development, or a related field
  • Experience with training needs assessments and program evaluation
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models
  • Experience with training delivery methods, including classroom instruction and online learning

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires regular attendance and participation in training sessions and meetings. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
