Job Summary
The Training Officer I - Organizational Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees within the California Correctional Health Care Services organization. This role requires a strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training delivery methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs to meet the needs of employees at all levels of the organization
- Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and conferences to promote employee development and organizational effectiveness
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop relevant content
- Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in employee knowledge and skills
- Develop and maintain training materials, including presentations, handouts, and evaluation tools
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in training and development
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Training and Development, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in training and development, preferably in a healthcare or correctional setting
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Training and Development, or a related field
- Experience with training needs assessments and program evaluation
- Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models
- Experience with training delivery methods, including classroom instruction and online learning
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position that requires regular attendance and participation in training sessions and meetings. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
