Key Responsibilities- Assess client treatment needs and provide treatment recommendations
- Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based techniques
- Crisis intervention as needed
- Coordinate treatment with other providers to ensure best client care
- Ensure appropriate aftercare plan for all assigned clients
- Effectively manage crisis situations on the unit
- Document in the clinical record according to requirements of regulatory agencies
- Follow the utilization review process
- Master's Degree in Human Services Field, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
- One year post-graduate experience in counseling substance abusers or mental health clients
- Knowledge of community resources available to substance abusers
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary setting
- Experience in individual, group, and family therapy
- Licensure in the State of Connecticut as a LCSW, LPC, LADC
