Position Summary

This newly created role is part of the corporate finance support team within Compass Group, a $3B division. You will collaborate with various departments and teams nationwide. The focus of this position is on consolidated accounting support, funding reconciliations, special projects, and management reporting.

While this role includes standard accounting functions such as journal entries and monthly reconciliations, it also emphasizes process design and enhancement. Your contributions will be pivotal in facilitating new initiatives and promoting accounting efficiencies and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee accounting procedures for new product or process initiatives.
  • Develop reconciliation templates to ensure uniformity across operations.
  • Monitor funding from diverse sources for all credit card transactions. Supervise balance sheet clearing accounts and collaborate with controllers to address discrepancies. Manage consolidated funding reconciliations.
  • Reconcile and document sales from offline systems.
  • Become proficient in our client commission process and provide training to operations controllers.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of accounting processes.
  • Support the integration of new business acquisitions.
  • Engage in special projects as required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and balance sheet principles.
  • Ability to manage and analyze extensive data sets.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functions (lookups, pivot tables, Power Query experience is a plus).
  • Experience with large ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Comfortable navigating multiple software platforms for information retrieval.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on error detection.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a general accounting capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
