We are seeking a seasoned Executive Culinary Director to join our team at Gecko Hospitality in the Western North Carolina mountains. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for creating exceptional dining experiences and have a proven track record of leading high-performing kitchen teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative menus that showcase local flavors and ingredients, ensuring consistency and quality across all food items.
  • Lead day-to-day kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment, while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with local suppliers and vendors to source high-quality ingredients and products, negotiating pricing and terms to optimize procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and exceed guest expectations, addressing any concerns or feedback related to the kitchen promptly and professionally.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Kitchen Manager or similar role in a high-volume hospitality environment, preferably in a hotel or resort setting.
  • Strong culinary skills, a passion for creating exceptional dishes using fresh, local ingredients, and proficiency in kitchen management software, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and best practices in kitchen operations, as well as a commitment to sustainability initiatives.
Benefits

The successful candidate will enjoy a competitive salary of $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus a range of benefits including comprehensive health insurance, retirement plan matching, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
