Position: Substitute Teacher
Role Summary: As a vital member of the Amador-Tuolumne Community Action Agency, the Substitute Teacher plays a crucial role in supporting the Lead Teacher in the execution of a thorough State Preschool/Head Start/Early Head Start curriculum. This position involves overseeing and engaging with young learners in preschool or infant-toddler environments, collaborating with fellow staff to empower parents in their essential role as their children's primary educators, and ensuring that services for children and families are delivered in a cohesive and integrated manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of educational activities.
- Supervise and interact with children, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
- Support classroom organization, including setup and cleanup.
- Engage with parents to provide resources and support.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of 12 college units in Child Development, including core courses.
- Progress towards an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Application for an Associate Teacher Permit or Child Development Associate Credential within 30 days of employment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in a Head Start or similar preschool setting.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires frequent walking, standing, and engaging in physical activities with children. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions.
