Job Overview

National Cherry Blossom Festival, Inc. is in search of an Operations Coordinator (part-time & full-time, seasonal contract position) to assist in the planning and execution of various events for the National Cherry Blossom Festival. This role involves supporting the Director of Programming in organizing events, including but not limited to, Sakura Taiko Fest and Oxon Run Pinknic. The Operations Coordinator will also provide administrative and logistical support for events such as the Festival Launch Event, Official Artwork Reveal, Pink Tie Party, Blossom Kite Festival, and Petalpalooza.

Key Responsibilities

The Operations Coordinator will play a crucial role in the Festival's Programming Team, focusing on administrative tasks and the procurement of necessary permits. Responsibilities include:

  • Event Permitting: Secure all required licenses and permits as per the guidelines set by relevant authorities. This includes preparing applications, attending meetings, and ensuring all documentation is complete.
  • Event Production: Develop and implement production plans for events, managing logistics, vendor relations, and site management.
  • Administrative Support: Act as a liaison between the Programming and Business Operations Teams, assisting with paperwork and scheduling.
  • On-Site Management: Oversee load-in and load-out processes, ensuring all operations run smoothly during events.
  • Post-Event Duties: Conduct inventory of equipment, assist in the organization of storage spaces, and support in budget reconciliation.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least two years of experience in administrative roles and event production.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in business productivity software and a willingness to learn new applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the capability to handle physical tasks associated with event setup.

Compensation: $25 per hour. This position does not include benefits.

Time Commitment: This is a seven-month contract role with varying hours throughout the contract period.
