Job Summary

The Kelberman Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and related developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement behavior reduction protocols and clinical skills instruction using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Collect and maintain accurate data on programs, assist with parent training, and support supervisors with clinical assessments
  • Provide direct care in one-on-one and group settings, utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training
  • Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
  • Assist with educational, social, and behavioral assessments of individuals
  • Support parent and caregiver training in line with individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding individual progress
  • Complete all required documentation according to the Center's program regulations
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or AAS Degree in Human Services or related field
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a program or setting supporting persons with developmental disabilities
  • Understanding of the characteristics of persons with autism, behavior management, and physical aggression of individuals with autism and cognitive delays
  • Basic Computer Skills (Windows, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel)
Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Minimal risk of chemicals used in cleaning.

Job-related tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, or the potential for skin or mucous membrane contact from spills or splashes of these substances. May have exposure to unpredictable individuals and situations when working at The Kelberman Center. Occasional exposure to inclement weather conditions while traveling to homes/clinic for scheduled sessions.

Physical and Mental Demands
  • Must be able to perform all the essential functions of the position and have fluency in the English language
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
  • Ability to lift and/or assist individuals and the ability to meet the physical requirements of the specific job
  • Ability to walk, bend, squat; Climb and descend stairs
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. Must be able to move and react quickly
