The Philanthropy Officer is a key member of the front-line fundraising team at Children's Wisconsin, responsible for identifying, evaluating, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts from mid-level prospects. This role requires a mission-focused, donor-centered, relationship-based approach to build and manage a dynamic portfolio of donors and prospective donors.
The ideal candidate will have three years of successful fundraising experience, with a proven track record of soliciting gifts of $5,000 and above. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with volunteers, staff, donors, prospects, and the general public. The ability to maintain complete confidentiality regarding donor and Foundation files is also crucial.

Key Responsibilities- Represent Children's Wisconsin and help carry out the strategic plan of the Foundation by identifying, evaluating, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts from mid-level prospects.
- Build and manage a dynamic portfolio of approximately 125+ mid-level donors and prospective donors, ensuring timely, strategic steps are taken to move the donor through the gift cycle of qualification, cultivation, face-to-face solicitation, gift closure, and stewardship.
- Create and execute personalized donor communications and solicitation strategies to activate the portfolio, with the goal of increasing donor retention, engagement, and upgrading donors to the major gift pipeline.
- Work closely with fellow gift officers and Foundation staff to identify and engage prospective donors interested in hospital programs and projects, with the goal of qualifying, cultivating, and building a robust donor base that will funnel into the Major and Planned Giving pipeline.
- Partner closely with the stewardship team to coordinate stewardship and communication to mid-level donors on a regular basis.
- Routinely report outreach and engagement activity and consistently meet outlined metrics for the position as a means to best serve the hospital and Foundation's mission and foster a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.
