Position Overview

The Court Appointed Special Advocate of Sacramento County (CASA Sacramento) is dedicated to providing unwavering support for children within the foster care system through the engagement of volunteer advocates who prioritize the best interests of each child. Role Summary:

The full-time Case Supervisor will collaborate with a vibrant team of staff and volunteers to further the mission of CASA Sacramento and enhance the lives of local foster youth. This professional role demands exceptional multitasking abilities, deadline management, and the capacity to engage with diverse personalities. As a Case Supervisor, the individual will oversee the assignment and management of Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers, ensuring compliance with program policies and court regulations. Responsibilities include regular monitoring of volunteers, assisting in recruitment, training, and providing ongoing support. The role also involves reviewing court documents, editing reports, and attending court hearings, whether virtually or in person. The Case Supervisor must adeptly navigate the complexities of juvenile dependency and juvenile justice court processes while ensuring accurate data collection within a case management system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Volunteer Development: Assist in recruiting, screening, and interviewing prospective volunteers. Facilitate training sessions and prepare at least one in-service training annually.
  • Case Oversight: Manage a caseload of 40-45 volunteers, ensuring timely and accurate case documentation. Consult with volunteers regarding any issues and attend court hearings as necessary.
  • Program Engagement: Participate in monthly staff meetings, assist in scheduling orientations, and represent CASA at community events to promote awareness and volunteer recruitment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (social work, human services, psychology preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in volunteer coordination or social services.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in computer applications.
  • Understanding of family dynamics related to child welfare and experience in child advocacy is advantageous.
Working Conditions:
  • This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a hybrid work model.
  • Some evening and weekend hours may be required for training and events.
