We are seeking a skilled Clinical Admissions Specialist to join our team at Acadia Healthcare. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the admission process for patients, ensuring seamless transitions between levels of care, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to inquiries about the facility within established timeframes.
- Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Perform benefit eligibility checks to ensure patients have active benefits at the time of admission.
- Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure accurate recommendations for referrals.
- Coordinate admission and transfer processes between referral sources and levels of care.
- Maintain knowledge of milieu management and communicate projected admissions to internal representatives.
- Ensure all clinical information is received prior to patient admission, when possible.
- Schedule and complete pre-admission assessments, consult with admitting physicians, and communicate disposition recommendations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate medical record documentation.
- Complete initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission, when possible.
- Admit patients to the registration and accounting system, complete admission and consent forms, and demonstrate a positive attitude toward customers.
- Recognize patient safety as a top priority and resolve complaints in a timely manner.
- Bachelor's degree in a social services field, minimum.
- Master's degree in a social services field or RN preferred.
- One or more years' experience in mental/behavioral health, preferred.
