Matheny Medical and Educational Center is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Practical Nursing Specialist (LPN) to join our team.
Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm.
Newly hired qualified candidates will be eligible for a Signing Bonus of $3,000, ($1,500.00 after six months of continuous employment and the remaining $1,500.00 after one year of continuous employment).
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary nursing professional for a designated group of community residents as assigned by the Community Nurse Manager.
- Deliver skilled nursing services to community residents.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless and coordinated care.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all patient health care activities in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and coordinate care with Community Resident Assistants.
- Provide training to staff to enhance their professional growth and improve patient care.
- Foster professional relationships with community health professionals (including physicians, pharmacists, rehabilitation services, etc.).
- Review all residents' health and medication records.
- Ensure adherence to medically prescribed diets and exercise regimens.
- Consult with medical personnel on health and safety matters.
- Respond to emergencies and provide necessary interventions.
- Suggest policies and procedures regarding health issues and oversee their implementation.
- Conduct monitoring activities as directed by the Community Nurse Manager and/or Group Home Manager.
- Provide direct care to residents, including assistance with daily living activities and feeding.
- Administer medications and treatments as required during shifts.
- Communicate effectively with group home staff regarding resident-related matters.
- Complete necessary documentation for the Community Residence.
- Review meal plans to ensure proper nutrition in line with medical guidelines.
- Train new staff on Community Residence Policies and Procedures.
- Accompany residents to appointments and outpatient visits.
- Adhere to medication administration protocols as per regulatory standards.
- Follow medical documentation procedures for healthcare providers.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living and personal care needs.
