Nursing Supervisor

Join Equiliem as a Registered Nurse Leader and take on a challenging role that requires strong leadership and clinical expertise. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care and ensuring that our nursing units operate efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Center Nurse Executive to maintain adequate nursing coverage and ensure safe patient care.
- Effectively utilize existing resources to minimize overtime and agency personnel.
- Participate in staff recruitment, assessment, and development to ensure that our nursing team is equipped to provide exceptional care.
- Assist with the Individual Performance Improvement Plan for staff whose performance does not meet center expectations.
- Recommends and facilitates employee promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide timely and effective care consistent with individual needs, choices, and preferences.
- Answer emergencies throughout the shift, including changes in patient condition, starting IVs, and pronouncing death.
- Foster a strong partnership between the medical staff and the department of nursing.
- Makes recommendations to the Center Nurse Executive regarding nursing care equipment and supplies.
- Promotes a culture of safety to ensure a healthy practice and living environment.
- Participates in meetings to address patient care, survey, and/or standards of care issues.
- Ensures that the building is secure during the assigned shift by checking doors and alarms according to nursing center protocols.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current registered nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing.
- A minimum of three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience is required, with a minimum of two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing and one year in a management/administrative or supervisory capacity.
- BSN preferred.
- Maintains current BLS/CPR certification.
- This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.
- Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with Company policy.
- Demonstrates leadership, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent management skills.
- Knowledge of computer use.
- Ability to create a patient-centered environment.
- Knowledgeable of Genesis policies and procedures, MDS process, state nurse practice acts, and state and federal regulations.
