Chair of Community Dentistry Opportunity

Case Western Reserve University is seeking a distinguished academic leader to serve as the Chair of the Department of Community Dentistry. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the department's mission and vision, fostering a culture of excellence in teaching, research, and service, and promoting the institution's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and programs
  • Manage personnel and budget
  • Assemble files and make recommendations for appointment, reappointment, promotion, and tenure
  • Submit regular reports to the Dean
Requirements:
  • DMD/DDS or equivalent advanced education program in dental public health and MPH
  • History of leadership, research funding, and productivity in oral health research
  • Administrative achievement and ongoing leadership roles in academic dentistry
  • Track record of sustained research and development with documented ability to attract extramural funding
  • Collaborative management expertise with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with graduate and undergraduate CODA accreditation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Dental Public Health or equivalent
  • PhD or equivalent
