High Voltage Transmission Electrical Engineer

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Transmission Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Energy practice, you will be responsible for designing and developing HVDC terrestrial and submarine cable systems and converter stations. Your expertise in electrical power engineering, coupled with leadership experience, will be essential in supporting clients with utility interface and technical coordination. You will work closely with project engineers and managers to develop design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities. Additionally, you will provide technical support input during the project permitting phase and prepare conceptual level engineering documents. Your experience in power systems analysis software, such as ASPEN OneLiner, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, AcSELerator, and EnerVista, will be valuable in performing load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, and arc flash analysis. You will also be responsible for developing construction and equipment specifications, supporting projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning, and reviewing engineering work performed by peers. **Key Responsibilities:**

* Design and develop HVDC terrestrial and submarine cable systems and converter stations
* Support clients with utility interface and technical coordination
* Develop design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities
* Provide technical support input during the project permitting phase
* Prepare conceptual level engineering documents
* Perform power systems analysis using software such as ASPEN OneLiner, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, AcSELerator, and EnerVista
* Develop construction and equipment specifications
* Support projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning
* Review engineering work performed by peers

**Requirements:**

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
* 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
* Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Electrical Engineering required
* Occasional travel required to other AECOM locations and client sites
* Valid U.S. Driver's License required

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
* 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
* Experience working with FACTS
* Power systems analysis software experience
* Familiarity with industry codes and standards
* Able to lead engineering tasks with strong communication skills
* Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish
* Plant Startup and Commissioning Field Experience
* Owner's Engineering experience
* Experience working with remote teams
