Job Summary: This role is responsible for processing release of information requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and providing customers with exceptional service. The ideal candidate will safeguard patient privacy, adhere to HIPAA regulations, and maintain a high level of productivity while working on-site at a hospital facility in Fayetteville, NC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completes release of information requests, including retrieving medical charts and transmitting them according to established procedures and standards.
- Validates requests and authorizations for release of medical information according to established procedures.
- Performs quality checks on all work to ensure accuracy and proper invoicing.
- Maintains equipment in excellent operating condition and provides excellent customer service.
Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma (GED) required.
- A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or similar setting.
- Strong computer software experience, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to type 50 wpm.
