Critical Care Nurse

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Critical Care Nurse to join our team in the LTAC Nights department. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and prioritize patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, adhering to regulatory requirements and Ochsner Health's policies and procedures.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience in critical care nursing, preferably in an LTAC setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in a clinical specialty area, such as CCRN or CEN.
- Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology.
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles and practices.
