Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose equipment issues through observation and the use of precision measuring and testing tools.
  • Assist fellow maintenance staff with both urgent and routine repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and related control systems.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, and engineering specifications.
  • Conduct chemical testing for boilers and wastewater pre-treatment systems, documenting results and making necessary adjustments.
  • Perform routine safety inspections on boilers and execute repairs as needed.
  • Examine motors, belts, fluid levels, replace filters, and conduct other maintenance tasks per established procedures.
  • Engage in basic welding tasks to repair facilities and equipment.
  • Inspect, clean, and lubricate various equipment components according to technical manuals.
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System effectively.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • A two-year technical degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance of facilities and equipment is essential.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in repairing industrial processing equipment in a production setting is required; military experience is also considered.
  • Successful completion of UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment is necessary for employment eligibility.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics is essential.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding maintenance literature in English is required.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office are necessary.
  • Experience with Lockout/Tagout procedures is required.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed; a valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
