Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at the University of Virginia Health System. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, providing exceptional care to patients undergoing transplant procedures.
About the Role
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care for transplant patients, utilizing advanced critical thinking and clinical expertise.
- Provide relationship-based care, focusing on patient and family-centered approaches to improve outcomes and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest transplant protocols, regulations, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program.
- 2 years of relevant experience in transplant nursing or a related field.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.
- Relevant specialty board certification strongly preferred.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods, frequently travel, and bend/stoop as needed.
- Exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease may occur.
