Event Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Chef to join our team at Gourmet Caterers, Inc. As an Event Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and executing large-scale food productions for various events, ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, and presentation.

• Bulk Food Production: Plan, prepare, and execute large quantities of food for multiple events, adhering to high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Organization and Logistics: Efficiently organize and manage food and equipment necessary for event execution, ensuring timely and smooth delivery.
• Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all safe food handling practices and company policies.
• Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chefs, production managers, and event coordinators, to ensure seamless event execution.
• Event Setup and Breakdown: Assist in the setup and breakdown of workspaces, mobile kitchens, food buffets, and unique stations onsite at events, maintaining high-level service standards and compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all food products meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.

• Education: High School Graduate or equivalent; Culinary Degree preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in a production setting, especially with experience in off-site event catering.
• Licensing: Current driving license with the ability to drive company vehicles.
• Skills: Excellent guest and hospitality skills, ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.
• Availability: Ability to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required and stand for long periods, with the capacity to move and carry heavy items.
• Serv-Safe/Allergen Awareness: Current Serv-Safe and Allergen certificates are required by many of our venue partners. The company can and will provide training and certification.

• Customer Service: Strong skills in customer service, with an understanding of going above and beyond for guest satisfaction.
• Attention to Detail: An eye for the minor details that elevate an event from ordinary to extraordinary.
• Organizational Skills: High organizational skills and resourcefulness to manage many moving parts in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of Kitchen Tools: Comfort and knowledge in using various kitchen tools and utensils efficiently and safely.
• Ability to Follow Directions: Ability to adhere to the instructions provided by chefs, with an openness to ask questions and learn.
• Positive Attitude: Maintaining a positive outlook and approach to challenges.
