Role Overview

As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer at Apple, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards are met in the production of our renowned products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phase, ensuring alignment with Apple's quality standards.
  • Develop and implement measurement technologies, control strategies, and manufacturing methods to achieve ambitious specifications at substantial production scale.
  • Design and implement groundbreaking quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics.
  • Compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications.
  • Lead activities to balance unparalleled quality with scalable yields, driving corrective actions with internal and external team members.
  • Collaborate with internal and external groups to ensure proper definition of quality expectations and the use of appropriate assurance techniques.
  • Coordinate and prioritize all Quality Engineering functions for multiple programs, continuing to expand the capabilities of the team and recruit new engineers.
  • Evaluate and communicate yields of new and existing processes, establishing audit procedures to ensure alignment with Apple quality standards.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and Quality Control, with a strong background in process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving corrective actions and failure analysis efforts.
  • BS in Engineering: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with the development and evaluation of measurement systems, project management, and problem-solving tools, including design of experiments, root cause analysis, and statistical analytical tools.
  • International experience, particularly in Asia, is a plus.
