Job Summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound procedures on patients, ensuring technical quality of images, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound procedures on patients, including preparing patients for exams, explaining procedures, and positioning patients for optimal imaging.
  • Enter and monitor patient data, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Perform quality assurance on ultrasound equipment, maintaining optimal performance and adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Identify and report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
  • Take emergency calls within the department, providing prompt and effective response to patient needs.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development through mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.
  • Support department-based goals, contributing to the success of the organization.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide exceptional patient care and experiences.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Sonography Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Registered Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S) or equivalent certification.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others to perform job functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in breast imaging or ultrasound procedures.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound equipment and technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment, with frequent exposure to patients and medical equipment. The ability to lift and/or maneuver patients is essential.
