Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team in the Maternal Fetal Medicine department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations to obtain anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by physicians.
- Escort patients and families to and from examination rooms, ensuring a comfortable and respectful experience.
- Explain exams to patients and families prior to commencement, ensuring cooperation and optimal test results.
- Maintain accurate patient charts and records, and process sonographic data and observations for presentation to interpreting physicians.
- Collaborate with physicians to review studies and provide preliminary reports for signature.
- Assist with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Code services performed accurately and maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment.
- Recognize equipment malfunctions and take corrective action to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Minimum six months experience as an ultrasound technician in an OB/GYN and/or MFM setting preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Skilled in operating ultrasound equipment, with ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
