Key Responsibilities:

As a skilled technician, you will undertake mechanical installations and drive performance, guided by your colleagues and fulfilling all tasks assigned by the Employer, limited only by your capabilities as assessed by the Employer, at the applicable apprentice pay rate. You will also troubleshoot and resolve issues, respond to basic warranty inquiries, and keep JCI, contractors, and customers updated on job progress and challenges as necessary.

You will be expected to provide recommendations and solutions to ensure optimal facility operation, including identifying upselling opportunities and preparing quotes to support your suggestions.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems.
  • Ability to execute mechanical installations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Your responsibilities will include repairing equipment such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customer expectations.

You will also proactively check for refrigerant leaks and perform necessary repairs.
Conduct refrigeration/HVAC preventive maintenance checks promptly as assigned.

Monitor and document refrigerant usage within designated stores.
Participate in the company's after-hours emergency call program and assist with troubleshooting as needed. Complete equipment inventories as assigned and perform other job-related duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with supermarket rack systems, display cases, self-contained cases, ice machines, and walk-ins is highly preferred. EPA certification for refrigerant handling class I & II, or universal is also desirable. This position is part of a bargaining unit.
