Position Overview:

The Special Security Technician plays a pivotal role in overseeing the operational management of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs). This includes ensuring that all personnel and visitors adhere to the stringent standards set forth for handling sensitive and classified information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of SCIFs, including scheduling and access management.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of classified material storage areas to ensure compliance.
  • Implement security protocols for documents, materials, and devices requiring protection.
  • Utilize established information security principles to address specific security challenges.
  • Investigate incidents related to the mishandling of classified information.
  • Design and execute security inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of classified information procedures.
  • Maintain an active TS/SCI clearance and participate in polygraph examinations as required.
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial security, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and delivering training on various security topics.
  • Knowledge of classification and declassification processes for materials and information.
  • Ability to conduct security briefings and training sessions related to classified materials.
  • Assist in the processing of eligibility requests for military, government, and contractor personnel.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and recommendations regarding classified material management.
  • Produce clear and concise reports and documentation using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Recommend follow-up actions based on preliminary inquiries.

Security Clearance:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; a TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
